Blue Heaven
This piece was created as a tribute to my best friend. With that sweet face of hers, she could be holding a crack pipe and still look like a serene painting of Mother Mary.
Biggams (unsure about actual spelling) is a reference to fictional crackhead "Tyrone Biggams", a character of comedian Dave Chappelle. Tyrone once advised, "Be all you can be". He also advised getting drug money out of Mom's purse, but that's not the point. Also of importance, Tyrone is never without his red knit snow hat. My best friend is wearing one exactly like it in the piece. Her winter ensemble of choice the year this was made was the red hat and a beige/tan coat very much like Tyrone's only much cleaner and newer. She even wore a hoodie underneath just as Tyrone does. This was all completely coincidental. Strange days.
